We are experiencing some exciting developments as we move from “there’s an app for that” to “there’s an AI for that.” It will gradually become a commodity.
It’s not just ChatGPT. The competition will be fierce. Google teased sparrow, which makes me wonder what will happen to the 29 billion valuation of open AI if sparrow is a success 🧐.
Plus, there is undoubtedly more to it than linguistic models. We’ve seen solutions that compose music, create vectors, illustrations, etc, and we are merely scratching the surface.
Is your job at risk?
In the Product development area, I don’t believe you will lose your job from an AI (anytime soon, at least), but from someone who uses AI.
Then again, this was always the case: better tools, better productivity, better quality. Simply ride the wave and take advantage of these awesome solutions to create better, smarter products.
Fun fact (that I will definitely try):
Τhere is a plug-in for using ChatGPT in your email client. Let’s make the use case that the person I’m exchanging emails with and I use this plug-in with auto-reply, unsupervised send out. AI chit-chat 🙂
